For high school students and current high school STEM teachers, JSTI is a two-week research experience. The middle school JSTI program lasts one-week. The goal of JSTI is to provide students and teachers with an opportunity to engage in hands-on activities, team building, and research projects mentored by professional researchers while also gaining exposure to various STEM careers.

There are JSTI opportunities in two locations: New Mexico (JSTI West) and Maryland (JSTI East). Eligibility for each program is different.

The Nevada Division of Minerals still has some openings for live virtual classroom sessions for the spring.  They have several educational presentations related to earth science, minerals, and mining. They may also be available for career day programs for schools.  Teachers can request career day presentations or regular presentations when they sign up.  Book a date and time, then specific details can be discussed when they make contact with the teacher.

    The website is https://ndom.setmore.com/ .

For any questions, please reach out to Garrett Wake at gwake@minerals.nv.gov
